December 7th - Investor Forum 4:30 pm & Holiday Tree Lighting Party 5:30 pm

In the midst of an economic crisis on Wall Street, many investors are concerned about the safety of their brokerage and retirement account assets. Many do-it-yourself investors are now contemplating going to a financial advisor for help. Knowing what to ask a potential advisor is an important first step. Come to Kensington Town Hall for a special investor education forum to meet experts on these topics from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, December 7th, immediately prior to the Holiday Lighting Party. Sponsored by Mayor Fosselman and Maryland Delegates Al Carr and Jeff Waldstreicher (both of Kensington), Maryland Securities Commissioner Melanie Lubin and Kensington resident Duane Thompson will provide an overview of how financial advisors are regulated and the kinds of questions you should ask before selecting an advisor to help you in today’s turbulent markets. Thompson is managing director of the Financial Planning Association and a Board member of the Jump$tart Coalition, a nonprofit financial literacy organization.
